Sure Start Nursery

Creating a play area for the new Sure Start nursery for up to 50 toddlers required development of an old basic playground at the school site. The brief was for a good environment for imaginative and social play for toddlers rather than structured equipment.
We worked with the school management to plan the area, select equipment and advise on sources of funding.
To make best use of a good-sized space, a large area of 'wet-pour' safety surface is left free for bikes and ball games. A train station with track coloured into the surface and a boat with sea and sand in the surface provide almost infinite opportunities for imaginative play. A stage with grassy area can form part of play or be used for group activity.
Adventure Playgrounds prepared the site and provided the complete play area, including extensive fencing and a loggia entrance.
